Playing Cards Hidden Sides

Anniversary author's reissue of playing cards drawn by private designer Yulia Alekseeva. The first edition of these cards was printed in 2014 in a limited edition of 100 decks. Fundraising for the implementation of the project conceived by Yulia Alekseeva was carried out through a crowdfunding platform.

“One day I became curious about what could be hidden on the second half of playing cards, which we never see? What secrets do the Kings and Queens keep? And then I drew the King of Hearts - serious and prestigious at first glance, but in fact tired and homely cozy, with his feet in a basin of warm water. And after him, the rest of the deck was invented. As soon as this idea came to me, I decided to study this issue from a historical point of view. Then I learned that the most common design of playing cards in Russia (which is what I used in my illustrations) was created in the mid-19th century by the academician of painting A. I. Charlemagne. But as I delved deeper into this topic, I realized that I did not want to invest any deep meaning in this idea. I was just interested in fantasizing and joking a little, like in childhood. The cards are printed at a professional card factory on modern printing equipment. The cards are made on two-layer cardboard with a dark layer from translucence, covered with protective varnish.
